Not sure where you are, but my wife and I both just bought an iphone 6. I was really going to wait for the 6s but it usually being not much different than 6 coupled with T-Mobile promotion of $15 a month - couldn't resist. We both wanted to get on the non-s series anyway, so will just get the 7 next year. Sold her iPhone 5 for 250, so her 6 will be essentially free ($15 * 15 months = 225 until 7 comes out). I come from an android phone (G2) and sold it for $150 so mine will cost about 75. After taking all this calculation into account, didn't feel like spending 650 on each 6s.

If you are not in the US and on Tmobile, then all of the above is a moot point, and I wouldn't buy a 6 right now if its not considerable cheaper.

Tell yourself what you need to for buying two phones so close to the next iPhone refresh. :D

The 6 might be worth it if you find it super cheap.. and don't currently have a phone. Definitely not so much for a 5s or lower as those are basically 2 years old already.

Depends on how much you want it...NOW. I just picked up a 6+ from TMO, but I'll probably JUMP [ a TMobile upgrade program ] to the 6S+ when it's out..

Yes, I'm a phone whore!! :p

You have no idea what you want. It seems that you wanted the iPhone 6 when making the title of this thread, then you wanted any of the last 3 in the first sentence, and at the end you now want an iPhone 5.
^^^Exactly this!

I have no idea about your financial situation, If you want something cheap, get at least a 5S. The 5 may not have much runway left as its nearly 3 years old now. But if you have to think this hard about the cost of a smartphone, the service will be far more expensive, regardless of what phone you buy.

Personally, if you were to get a phone I would chose the iPhone 6 because it's really easy to use. If you take good care of it then you can just sell it in the fall when the newer model comes out and buy that one.

If I didn't have an iPhone I'd get it now. If I had an older model and wanted to upgrade I'd wait until the new iPhones are released in September.

You'd be lucky to get $550 on a mint condition iPhone 6 now, probably won't get $500 once the 6s is released. So if you buy a new iPhone 6s then your basically wasting a couple hundred bucks for a rental device.
