I'm having trouble justifying the new MacBook vs. the white MacBook with the price increase. My current computer is old, and performs like it's even older than it actually is (it's an HP) and I desperately need a new one. I'd really like a MacBook, and my budget is tight.

My options are a 13" White MB $1175.00:
13.3" (diagonal) 1280 x 800 resolution glossy widescreen display, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz Processor,
2GB RAM (two 1GB SO-DIMMs), 160GB Serial ATA 5400 rpm HD, slot-loading 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW), Gigabit Ethernet, No modem, Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory, 1 FireWire 400 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Built-in stereo speakers, built-in omnidirectional microphone, combined optical digital audio input/audio line in, combined optical digital audio output/audio line out, Mini-DVI port with support for DVI, VGA, S-video and composite video output (requires adapters, sold separately), Airport Extreme (802.11n), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, built-in iSight camera, HD Sudden Motion Sensor, Scrolling Trackpad, Kensington cable lock slot,white polycarbonate, Lithium battery, wt: 5.0 lbs.

It also comes with free Apple Care

New 13" MacBook $1249.99:

13" White MacBook $949.00:
2.1GHz

* Intel Core 2 Duo
* 1GB DDR2 Memory
* 120GB hard drive1
* Intel GMA X3100 graphics

Refurbished MacBook 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - White $849.00
13.3-inch glossy widescreen display
1GB memory
120GB hard drive
Combo drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW)
Built-in iSight camera

Cost is an issue, but if it is definitely worth it I can make anything work. Can anyone shed light on to which is the best deal/essential for a typical college student. Would I be making a big mistake going with the cheaper one? Would I regret missing out on anything?

Thanks in advance.
