Just had to do my second keyboard replacement on my I9 2019 15.4" MacBook Pro. I have m1 Macs and the keyboards and they are so much nicer. Other than that and getting worse battery life than my m1 MacBooks, I love this laptop. I doubt I will get back anything close to what I put into this machine though. I also have AppleCare plus on it. The new keyboard is working great, but for how long? The spacebar and some of the keys kept getting stuck before I got it replaced. I am trying to stick it out because I have so much invested in this machine that it seems like a lot of money to just get the better keyboard basically. What do you all think?

I'm not the best person to answer this as I really like the butterfly keyboard even if it's glitchy, but it's not that hard to setup an external keyboard to use on top of your laptop keyboard. I do this anyway because sometimes I want a different typing experience.

I personally would never make my laptop judgement on the keyboard alone because I can always supply my own if I don't like it and also keyboards can change as they age.

Here's my "other laptop keyboard". It's a 65% mechanical keyboard attached to a sheet of acrylic via a piece of industrial velcro. I have small rubber feet on the acrylic to tent the surface so it's not pressing into the keys underneath.

That said, I can't wait to trade up to an M1X 16" when it comes out.

If I am going to really work on a laptop, I connect an external monitor and external keyboard. The actual keyboard I use it for trivial stuff like typing in here.
