Is it worth upgrading iPhone 15 Pro to iPhone 16? What are the real benefits of the 16 over the 15/15+?

The iPhone 16 has less heating issues than the 15 Pro and better performance . The iPhone 16 has up to 4 hours of additional battery life. The comparative characteristics of both models are well described here https://www.apple.com/iphone/. If you actively use applications or play games, the difference will be noticeable. For ordinary users, the performance of the iPhone 15 is quite enough.

I just went from the 15 PM to the 16 PM. If you have the money, do it. The camera control button is actually pretty awesome. I use it most for launching the camera, and for zoom and exposure control. It has already come in handy a few times. And battery is way better. Not a huge jump but like I said, if you have the money, why not?

You are generally correct, but the iPhone 15 Pro has better cameras and of course 120 hz Promotion screen. Also the iPhone 16 will be limited to 60 FPS for games.

If you do not have any issues with your 15 Pro, and not in need of a new phone, I would hold onto the 15 Pro until the 17 series launches and make a decision then. We are 8 months out from the next iPhone and since you have waited this long, maybe a few more months of waiting wont hurt, unless you find a really good deal on the 16. Also I would stop into an Apple Store and play around with the 16 to see how you like the screen and its other specs.

I upgrade iPhones every 6-7 years. Nothing wrong if you can afford or upgrade with tax benefits or enjoy technology. I don’t usually lecture people on how they handle their finances. To each their own, I know a guy who lectures people on buying new tech gadgets but blows hundreds of dollars on eating out, drinking and other hobbies. Have fun, be responsible.

To the regular 16? Not much.

If you buy the 16 Pro you will quickly fall in love with the 5x lens and never shoot anything without it ever again.

All I'll say is that after years of big and/or Pro phones, and pining for a greatly improved Mini, I am loving the heck out of my regular ultramarine 16. It's small and light, and the battery life in use is pretty amazing.

Note that I am not on TikTok/Instagram 16 hours a day. But I take lots of photos, use Apple/Google Maps a ton, listen to lots of podcasts both on the speakers and via AirPods, have a Whoop connected to it 21 hrs/day, etc. It's a champ.

I went from a 15 Pro to a 16 Plus since I had an annoying scratch on the display and my 15 Pro overheated constantly. I also wanted a bigger display again. Teal won me over.

No. If you carefully compare specs, there’s nothing worthwile. Wait for the 17, it’s just a handful of months away.
I have a 14 Pro Max and moving to the equivalent 16 doesn’t give give me enough to make it worthwhile.

Make yourself a favor and do not. I had a 15 pro Max and bought the 16 pro max and it’s the worst iPhone I’ve owned. We are talking about a useless device : the keyboard is so laggy and sluggish that it’s not useable even to write a message. Apple doesn’t seem to care and the last iOS updates didn’t resolve these quirks.

Meh, I upgraded from a 13 Pro (which also wasn't worth it). I barely used the 3x lens on it, and I use the 5x on my 16 Pro even less.

To answer the OP's question. No, it's not worth it....not even a little bit.
