Hi,
and I know this seems to be a bit of a recurring theme but most of the posts seem to revolve around gaming and design rather than music production.
I am about to buy a 15'' unibody MacBook Pro to run Logic 8 and Ableton 7 for music production and usually will be running many tracks, often with many plug-ins being used as well (typically reverb, compressors, and synth instruments). I will also be using the two programmes together (via Rewire).
I dont really care about rendering / frames per second etc as I will not be using the MBP for any games or design.
Bottom line is it worth getting the 2.8ghz processor or the 2.53ghz?
I get employee scheme discount so if I went for a refurb 2.53 the difference would be about £400 (you cant get 2.8ghz MBP on refurb at the moment)
I dont mind spending the extra cash, but if its not going to make really any difference then I would rather not spend it and put it towards some new software etc.
I would have a 7200 rpm hard drive on either option (though I would have to upgrade the refurb model separately)
Its a big purchase either way and would really appreciate any advice from anyone out there!
Thanks for any help!
