 just like it's present (although not on the dock) in a MacBook Pro shipped with SL  Thanks.

It is not.

oooooops

can I just copy the app from my previous MacBook Pro? (I mean technically, licensing issues aside)

I need do a little update on an ancient website which was created by iWeb...:(

This is confusing. I have iWeb on my 2011 MBA presumably because it came from a Time Machine of a previous 2010 MBA... But, I can't see any way of buying iWeb separately if it is not included? It isn't on the app store?!

That means I can copy the iWeb app from my old mbp... Good

iWeb is dead. Not on the App Store, not on new Macs, boxed iLife copies no longer being sold.

ssshhhh. not so loud; my copy of iWeb does not need to hear that awful news, it's still producing lovely results ;)

But yeah Apple kicked iWeb to death much too soon, its extremely flexible application once you learn how to manipulate it and create your own templates.

I copied the iWeb app from my old MacBook Pro and that's it. I have iWeb again.... After that I spent a long time finding where did it save my old website!

LOL. I assume you found the 'domain' file in your user/library/application support/iweb folder :)
