I certainly think so. I haven't used many others, but I can't imagine what could be much better. Extracts and joins files, remembers all passwords you previously used, has a scheduler, can download directly from YouTube and other video sharing sites (yes, also those video sites).

While JDownloader certainly isn't great looking, are there any apps out there better for downloading in your opinion?

I currently use Jdownloader as well, while its great it does have some weaknesses so I would like to see if anyone chimes in with something better to try.

I've never used JDownloader, so I can't speak to its merits. I love Speed Download, though. I got it in a bundle a number of years ago, and it does pretty much everything I need. Also, it's got a great UI, imo.

Apart from a prettier UI, what do you think it lacks?

I use JDownloader and Speed Download, but JDownloader is by far the better program.

love jdownloader. My only complaint is that it looks and feels like a windows program. wish it would get a better look and feel to it
