So I'm trying to sell my iMac. I have the original Snow Leopard discs but I upgraded to Lion. Can I do a reformat and install Lion and not have any of my Apple ID stuff tied to it or will I need to just reformat and install Snow Leopard?

Thanks!

According to the terms of Apple's license, you should reinstall Snow Leopard from the discs, then deliver the iMac with Snow Leopard installed, along with the discs.

You retain the rights to a copy of Lion, tied to your Apple ID, so you can download and install Lion on whatever other Mac(s) you own.

If your other Macs are too old to support Lion or so new that they come with Lion, your purchase of Lion goes to waste.
