Is Mac usage really dropping?

Just had a look at http://www.netmarketshare.com and if you click Operating System -> Desktop Trend at the top, its dropped over 1% in a year. Im seeing more and more people using Macs than i ever have in my life, so just seems a bit weird. Are people just using their iPads a lot more now so the Mac don't get used as much?

I'm not sure how much I'd trust that site. Select: Operating Systems -> Desktop Share by Version
There doesn't seem to be a share listed for Mac OS X 10.9 at all.

Different stat counters appear to give different results.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems#Web_clients

Net Applications and others show a decrease for OS X, but StatCounter and W3Counter show an increase.

Wikimedia also do their own Traffic Analysis Report:

What we can see is that iOS and Android are growing, so mobile devices continue to become more significant. Presumably a Windows 8 tablet would add to the overall Windows total.

Windows 8.1 on the up

… Operating System -> Desktop Trend …
If you view the trend by version, there's OS X 10.9 but not 10.10.

The slope up for Windows 8.1 is far steeper than the slope down for Windows 7. If you introduce the slope down for XP, it's not noticeably steeper in that period.

Macs are alive and doing very well in both personal and business environments I operate in.

Well, in my environment I know a lot of people who switched back to something else. I also know some people who bought a MacBook but installed Windows on it and only use Window. (they only wanted the Apple logo… yup)

I could imagine that Apple sales would go down in the coming years, but usage?
And if you wonder why I said Apple sales: I believe with Yosemite and iOS 8 - and the ugly flat child look - a lot of people will simply not upgrade anymore. But these long time users will not switch to something else, I for one won't be upgrading anymore but I definitely won't start using Windows or whatever.

I also know some people who are looking for iPhones with pre-iOS 7 systems installed. I started to think about that too.
