Hello everybody,

I read an article on another rumor site that claims the magic track pad is made of Liquidmetal. When I look at it from a side profile, you can see that there is a super thin layer of something over the aluminum frame but I can tell if it is an epoxy or if maybe it is a metal. I'm curious because it is smooth and it never collects fingerprints.

If you're talking about the thin layer on the touch surface, that is most likely glass, as on the MBP touchpads. The touchpad uses capacitive sensing, therefore the touch surface needs to be non-metallic and non-conductive. The touchpad is made of aluminum, except for the on/off button and battery access covers, which look like stainless steel.
