I just built a computer. I was going to use it for gaming; so I was trying to install Windows on it. After 1 or 2 hours of installing the basic programs, I was already getting addware and viruses, and I am remembering why I went Mac. (I know -- serves me right) I was wondering if Mac OS X was downloadable to burn on a DVD from the Apple Store somewhere so I can install it on my new machine. All I see is upgrade from the Apple Retail Store. (Maybe I'll try dual boot later using boot camp.)

You download OS X from the Mac App store which is accessible from any Mac, since you don't have a Mac its not downloadable.

Are you sure all your hardware is compatible with OSX? A normal PC cannot be a Hackintosh just by installing OSX.
