Is the RAM and/or HDD from a Santa Rosa MacBook 2.2GHZ compatible with the new Penryn Macbook Pros?

Yes. Why? Because they both use the same chipset, Crestline (965 Express).

Crestline is part of the Santa Rosa Centrino platform. When you wrote "Santa Rosa MacBook 2.2GHZ" you really meant Merom, which is the CPU.

Centrino

Thanks, the specs looked the same, but RAM these days has so many quirks I just wasn't convinced.
