Is MemoryFreer on the Mac App Store worth getting?

Has anyone bought tried the MemoryFreer App on the MAS?

Just wondering if it actually works as described and would I notice any difference on my MBA which has 4GB?

No, because OSX does a great job at memory management. Many of these types of utilities do very little in terms of actual user experience.

Save your money and don't bother with these apps. If you're short on ram, and incurring page outs, then no app is going to improve your performance. Rather get more ram.

The "purge" utility is part of Apples developer tools (Xcode), IIRC.

If you have Xcode installed you can just run "purge" in Terminal. It will have the same result.
