Hi guys!
I'm thinking about getting an external display for my good, old 13" MBA mid-2011 (1,7 GHz Intel Core i5, 128 GB SSD, 4 GB RAM), because it would be nice to use some extra screen estate. Since I can't really afford getting even a Thunderbolt display (whose resolution is already unsatisfactory for some
), I'm planning to buy a 22" DELL P2214H IPS display, 1080p. It is kind of a refreshed version of the widely praised Ultrasharp U2212HM and as for image quality they say that it is very much identical to the iMac 21.5".
Anyway, my question would be, what are your experiences about external displays hooked up to a MBA mid-2011, or to any computer with an Intel HD 3000 for that matter? The general smoothness of OS X is what concerns me, not gaming. However, if there's anybody who tried to drive a Thunderbolt display with this small machine, I'd like to know his experience as well. Thanks!
