I set up Find My iPhone, but before doing so, I used the same email address for my itunes account to log onto Find My iPhone.

Am I being charged for this? Or, if I'm on a MobileMe Free Trial for 60 days, will they start charging me afterwards, or will they ask me if I want to purchase MobileMe or not?

I just want to be sure that I did this properly, that's all.

Also, is there a way to set up Find My iPhone on an iMac? So that way, I can search for my phone through my computer, or is that not possible?

Mobile me isn't free after the trial, no. Check your settings on a computer. If memory serves, you had to input your credit card, and have to go in and cancel... But I did it so long ago...
And yeah, if you have mobile me, then you can do FMI from it on your mac.

Find My iPhone is completely free. The full Mobile Me is not (yet) free.

Go to me.com and login to track your iDevice.

The 'Find My iPhone' portion of MobileMe is free. You aren't charged for that, and it's not a trial.

The rest of the MobileMe features are still currently $99/year etc.. but you aren't signed up for that.

You access it from your computer the same way as everyone else. Go to www.me.com and log in and you should be able to find the find my iphone stuff.

We will see soon, there's been alot of talks and speculation that soon Apple will provide Mobile Me acess and even itunes library streaming for free. Just gotta wait and see what 5.0 has in store for us.

I agree, it's rather ignorant, or perhaps naive, to suggest that the service, or large parts of it, will not eventually be free.

I think its pretty much 50/50 is people want a mobileme for email, calendar, etc. But i think 95% of iphone, ipad, itouch users would like the ability to locate, lock, and wipe their devices.

Believe me, it will be free. Especially when Google offers the same service (Google Sync) for free and better. Everything will be online soon, Cloud is the future. And future is free.

And then you have data caps from your ISP

I'm going to be quite angry if they make it free.

I don't think they will though. Free web storage space and domain and email will be quite a lot to give away to hundreds of millions of people.

It should be free as long as iDisk is slow like this.

hmm my iDisk isn't slow. I actually timed it with a buddy. Upload and then download times. I thought they were fair considering these wireless companies claiming to have faster internet service.

I'd like to point out, that Find my iPhone is only free if you have an iPad or iPhone 4 or 4th gen Touch

I'd further like to prod the fact, that after your Apple ID has been setup for the free Find My iPhone on a 4th gen iDevice/iPad, you can set it up with no problems on any iDevice running 4.2.1.

me.com offers users 20Gig of online storage. The free version of dropbox only offers 2Gig of storage.

I think Apple Will do like Dropbox, offer a free account with limited storage and a premium paid version for the 20 Gig.

By the way Google does offer similar free services to mobile me, but does not have an official online disk storage or contact sync with Outlook. You can use Gmail's 7 Gigs of space to store files using unofficial apps on Win and Mac.

LOL, nothing is free. While you may not be spending money for google, using google is costing you, whether its privacy, or increased ads. People thought that the internet everything should be free during its infancy and that's simply not the case. The cloud will turn out the same, some things will be free but if you want some premium type services, you'll end up paying.
