Is my 2017 iMac's i5 weaker than my 2014 MBP's i7?

I noticed that my MBP is faster in loading browser tabs than my iMac. Would this because of the SSD in MBP being faster compared to the fusion drive in iMac? Or could this be because it has i7 instead of i5?

I wonder if I made a mistake in choosing i5, and what the price difference was between i5 and i7.
