The photos seem to be quite grainy when viewed in windows - im not zooming in or anything, just looking at them in their regular size.

the grain is less noticeable when outside or in bright light, but when i take a snap in my room it looks very grainy, is it just poor lighting?.

so faulty or am i expecting too much?

sample shots, not the most interesting shots but its all i had on my desk

mine seems to be the same way, but takes much crisper shots in the light. Perhaps it needs its auto iso settings tweaked in an update?

Generally, indoor shots will be grainy on most cameras. There's not enough light in the room so the sensor has to compensate and bump up the ISO. Your pictures are normal.
