I have the newest airport extreme and for the last few months I would get the message time machine has not backed up for a certain amount of time. some of the errors were encryption problems. I decrypted the drive and it seemed t work then I got the same time machine not completed. I have our music library stored on the drive so sonos can stream from it. I have one track we use for sleep noise sonos would give the error the track could not be found once in awhile.
so I bought a larger drive and used carbon copy cleaner to duplicate the old drive and plugged the new one in. i Left the old one plussed into the mini and set time machine to backup to both. all worked for a few days tillI got the same error. checked the extreme it had a yellow light flashing when I checked it said the drive needs first aid. well attempted this and this is what i got and the drive won’t mount. so now I am worried about getting the drive replaced and hooking it up to the extreme.
