I know this forum has a bunch of threads like this... But my MacBook Pro, bought around Feb. of 2010, has a really low battery time. I will charge it to 100% and will end up really only getting 5 hours maybe 5 and a half hours. I'm usually really conscious about having apps open, usually will really only have Firefox, iChat, iTunes, and maybe oovoo/skype. Brightness is always at 50% if not maybe lower and keyboard brightness is a 50%. Just wondering if that's anything out of the ordinary.

Install gfxcardstatus from here.

Then go through your normal routine and see which GPU it's using.. either 9400 or 9600 for you. Honestly, 5.5 hours doesnt seem so bad though.

you should definetely check whether you're using discrete graphics or the integrated.
as for other questions, it gives me 5 hours, then shuts down. I calibrate usually every two months.

Just installed.. Not really sure what it's supposed to do though. lol..

I don't wanna hijack your post, but i have somewhat of a similar problem.

Maybe it's paranoia speaking but i just bought a Macbook Pro 15 inch i5 yesterday. The battery's designed capacity is 6900 mAh. It's now down to 6600 mAh. Coconut Battery and iStat menus give me a battery health of 95% and 96% respectively.

So is it just me or is it going way to fast?

First thing i did was calibrate the battery.
