Is my HDD slowing down?

I have the Apple 7200 RPM drive upgrade, and I am now noticing something very very small, that I think could be attributed to my hard drive slowing down.

I think I might be crazy but wth...

So when I go to change my background, for split second, I see "Loading Images..." in the background thumbnail preview. I don't remember seeing this before.
