So, I fiddled with the Smart Cover as it was improperly aligned and bam! I dropped it and it actually ricocheted but it fell on its back and I have this for rear protection.

Screen wasn't cracked at all. And it fell on a wooden floor. In fact, no visible damage

I'm a bit paranoid here... is it ok?

Its fine, there are no moving parts, its flash storage ect, if nothings wrong with it you can see, its unlikely anything in it broke. your fine.

Thank God.

There's virtually no damage to the screen, I do have a screen protector. Still works just like new.

Guess the floor dampened the impact too, it's not concrete but wood.

Since the law of gravity can not be repealed all my mobile iOS devices reside inside of what my wife and kids laughingly refer to as 'digital device chastity belts'.

Otterbox or Griffin should be your friends.

ZUM Ultimate to hold that smart cover in place. See the very informative thread about this great case in iPad Accessories! :p

Just to be on the safe side a trip to the ER seems called for. Let them keep it overnight for observation.

You know what? You should send your iPad my way so I can check if it's still working right ;)

Kidding

Seriously, sounds like it's fine.
