So, I was walking to uni this afternoon and my iPod just suddenly stopped. I looked at the screen and it was frozen. Now, this happens now and then so I just pressed Menu and Play 'til it rebooted. However, the apple just stayed on the screen, for ages. So, I reset it again and left it in my bag. An hour or so later perhaps (maybe a bit less) it was just the same. The HD had obviously been constantly spinning as the iPod was warm and the battery ran out. Now, coming home I've connected it to my Powerbook, and the HD has started to spin again, but the computer doesn't seem to recognise that it's connected, and the iPod hasn't lit up. What has happened? Will I have to send it off to Apple to get it repaired? If so, how do I go about that (I'm in the UK)?

Thanks for your advice.
