Hi everyone, this is my first post here on MacRumors.

My macbook pro 2008 won't start up at all.

Here's what happens.

-I press the power button, fan, LED, and harddrive noises for about one 1 second, then my computer totally shuts down
-I press the power button for 10 seconds, fan, LED, and harddrive noises for a longer time, then computer shuts down again

I did a recent RAM change, however, my computer booted up completely right and never had any problems until maybe 2 months later.

When I take out the RAM (no RAM in the computer) I get a long beep (only one).

I went to a local computer store and they told me that the logic board was dead, however, they only took 10 seconds to look at the computer.

Thanks for all your help!

I doubt the problem is related to the graphics card? The computer only stays on for less than a second. The fans turn off almost immediately once I press the power button.

Try reinstalling your original RAM?

I unno. Probs. I unno.

What did you expect? Take it to Apple instead of asking on MR.
