Is my mac broken

I have turned on my mac and a White screen appears with 3 beeps, the beeps then repeat and so on! I have tries to reset pram but nothing happens when I press the keys, now I have put my sonw leopard disc In, pressed c after power up but it makes no difference! Can anyone help me?

3 beeps means bad memory that wont register on bootup or no memory at all. Check to see your RAM hasn't somehow come loose. If not you may well have one or more bad sticks.

If you have more than one memory stick in it then try booting with just one in at a time. If it boots fine with one out then the one that is out is bad.

Mine is an all in one iMac 17 inch screen etc! Nothing plugged into it so not really sure what to do. It's all integral

The RAM they're referring to is built inside your iMac.

You'l have to open it up to have a look there are videos around of how to do so.

The iMac G5's are super easy to open.

1. Lay it face down on a bed or put a towel on a table.

2. Loosen the 3 retaining screws along the bottom of the machine where the speakers are.

3. Since nothing is connected to the back panel inside you can just remove it and set it to the side.

4. The RAM will be directly to the right/middle just below the hard drive.

5. Check the sticks are plugged all the way into the slots and if they already are then remove 1 and try to boot. If it beeps 3 times again just hold down the power button to shut it down then open the back again and switch the sticks.

If it beeps 3 times yet again then both sticks are bad.

but only the first generations G5 and the G5 ambient light sensor models open that easy
the g5 isight models open like the later intel iMac's and the ram slots in those are easy accessible from underneath ,as then with the isight models Apple considered it would not be advicable to build user accessible consumer computers , so they restricted access to just the ram slots
