I have the 2011 Verison of the Macbook Pro which is capable of Sata3. I just installed a SSD OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS but how can I find out if it is running at Sata3 or Sata2?

Look for "Negotiated Link Speed" on your drive.
If it says 6 Gigabit, then your SATA3

I had that EXACT SSD in my 2011 15" MBP and loved it. Great Drive, but the V4 and Vector are much better with better Controllers.

Also, as long as you dont put the SSD in the Optibay, you should have the SSD Negotiate at 6-Gigabit aka SATAIII aka SATA3
