My Dad's friend asked me to unlock his 1G iphone yesterday to get 2.0 on it and unlocked. So I used PWNAGE tool, and got it unlocked. It worked perfectly when I gave it to him, unlocked, jailbroken, perfect. Today, he emailed me saying: "[M]y iphone went black, flashing and now I have a white screen. I didn't update or did anything with it. I am not sure of why the phone would act as such."

I asked him to try putting into DFU mode and seeing if iTunes would detect it, but I have yet to receive a response. Is something wrong????

I doubt its either. Probably just hit some sort of crazy bug.

I would try putting it into recovery mode (seeing as DFU didn't work). I forget exactly how to do this.

If you can get into recovery mode successfully, you can then restore to firmware 2.0 using iTunes and then use pwnage again to jailbreak, unlock etc.
