Quick question brought an used Iphone4, anyway phone is restored back to factory settings and "Insert Sim Card to activate phone". However, since I don't have a micro sim at the moment could I tell if the phone has been blocked or not?. The only reason I'm suspicious is he didn't include the charger, cable etc

I paid by credit card so I be safe correct?.

EDIT:There was no service, in the top left corner where the little bars appear to let you know what strength of single you have it said No Service. After my son restored it and removed the sim, it still says No Service.
