I got an alert a little while ago to install new updates and restart. (I just installed SL a few days ago on my fairly new iMac.) So, I chose to install, and it was working, but now I have a blue screen with that little star-burst icon going around and around. It's been doing this for at least 30 minutes. I'm pretty sure it hung up my Mac, but I just wanted some confirmation before I hit the button and force it to shut down. For all I know it could be a huge update.

I was a Mac user (still have my beige G3) for many years but had to go PC for a few years due to my real estate job. Now I'm back to being a Mac user and so much has changed since OS9. :)

Thanks!

Christine

Force it to shut down. It should show you what it's doing and 10.6.1 took 3 minutes to install for me so it has just frozen.
