Is my SSD speed good?

Yeah my 512GB in my 2019 15" is about 2200 write and 2500 read, so i'd say that's about right for the 4TB

For comparison, I have an external 1 TB NVMe m.2 SSD in an USB 3.1 enclosure, and it does 800MB/s read and write.

That sounds about right. I have the 2019 base 13” model with 512GB. It gets about 1900 write 2200. My external SSD gets about 800-900. I have seen a few Thunderbolt encloses but don’t think it’s worth it for what I use the external drives for.

That seems about right. My 2TB 2018 15" gets in the 2600-2700 range for both Read and Write, although I do have 300GB set aside for Bootcamp. I don't think they really changed that much from the 2018 to 2019 models in regards to the SSD.

I don't think you'd notice it in real word though unless you are copying or dealing with huge data. IMO, any SSD is fast enough that makes it impossible to differentiate one from another other than in synthetic benchmarks.

My dad has 2017 MacBook Pro 256gbssd. It was about 2200 read and 1400 write. But my Mac mini 2014 2.6ghz internal mechanical hard rive is about 80mbps. So the OP is blazing fast. That is pretty good.
