Is New iPad Wireless?

I have an iphone 4s and a "New" ipad (the "3"). In iTunes-->Devices-->Summary-->Version, my iPhone 4s has two tabs which say "Check for Update" and "Restore". I use iCloud and have checked the "Sync This iPhone Over Wi-Fi".

On the iPad 3, however, under iTunes-->Devices-->Summary-->Version, it says: "Connect this iPad using a USB cable in order to update or restore its software". This iPad is also in the iCloud AND I have the "Sync This iPad over Wi-Fi" box checked.

So...does that mean that the iPhone 4s can be wirelessly synced/updated, but this iPad 3 cannot??

OR is there something I need to do in order to make the iPad 3 also sync wirelessly?

I believe the iDevice has to be plugged in and charging in order to be able to sync with the iTunes library on your PC. You cannot do it on battery.

You can do it on battery, but you have to manually kick it off. Charging it makes it happen automatically.
