I use the Nike+ GPS iPhone app to record my daily workouts. Recently, the app stopped syncing my miles, so I contacted Nike+ support through Twitter.

We exchanged several tweets as the support staff tried to work out the issue. Finally, they told me that I needed to set Mobile Safari to "always allow" cookies.

I asked them what Mobile Safari and cookies permissions had to do with the Nike+ app. They didn't answer my question — but followed up with a simple "Does it work now?"

Now I'm wondering whether the Nike+ GPS app might be setting cookies on my iPhone so Nike can track my web browsing.

Does this sound possible? Or am I just being paranoid?

Not sure the answer to what it means but they also pulled the same thing with me. I know that now it is working. I know I started having problems with the Nike GPS app once I switched from AT&T to Sprint onto the 4S from the 4. Not quite sure why an app would need to have Safari cookies allowed; it quite confused me as well.
