Greetings and salutations

I have set up my daughter's 13" MBP (late 2013) with two equal-sized partitions. On the first is Big Sur as the last supported OS, and on the second is Sonoma OCLP.

Is there any way to shrink the first partition and move over the space to the second partition?

If not, can I clone the partitions, wipe and repartition the SSD and clone the partitions back or must I uninstall Sonoma OCLP and then reinstall it after repartitioning the Big Sur partition?

It's been a while since I played around with Disk Utility so thank you very much in advance for your help
Philip

Boot into Recovery. In Disk Utility, select menu view > Show All Devices. Select the disk in the sidebar then select partition tab. You should be able to drag the pie slider to resize the partitions.

If you originally created APFS containers instead of partitions, you shouldn’t have to do anything as APFS containers share disk free space, unless you sized the containers explicitly.

Apologies for the delayed reply and thanks very much for your help. I didn't know that was possible to do. In the end I decided to reinstall Sonoma to get a clean start.
cheers

The above video has a nice and simple, IMO, explanation, but here’s a thorough demo, including old-school partitioning, of the disk management options:

There’s, of course, Apple’s official guide:
