I have a CrapBerry and am ready to finally get an iPhone. The new features of iPhone 4 don't interest me; I think the older iPhone 3GS is fine for my needs, but I want more than 8 GB, ideally 32 GB. Also, I want a new one, not a used one. My question is should I buy one now (while they are still officially listed for $199) or will they go on sale when the 4 comes out? Or will they disappear from the market and I'll have missed my chance?

Thanks,
CB

Any chance for a new iPhone 32gb is almost gone. Order before June 15th if you don't like iPhone 4. ALso remember that the 3gs will most likely not run all the features of iOS 5. What don't you like about iPhone 4?

If you want a 32GB iPhone 3GS, buy now by all means. The current 3GS prices/ models on AT&T's website won't last very long (well, at least until the iPhone 4 is out), so I'd buy one now if I were you. You'll miss your chance if you don't. Just sayin'.

how can the new features not interest you? I mean you may not need them, but if you want the storage you are going to be paying basically the same for either (may save $50 on the 3GS) but really if you ever decide to sell the 4 will be worth much more than the 3GS.. its a no brainer really

If it's like last year for a little bit of time they will
sell it for lower prices. You can prob still get refurbs once they run out of new

Personally I'd spend the $100 dollars more and get iPhone 4.

If you really want a 32GB 3GS then by all means act quickly. Chances are they won't be around much longer.

It's not that I *don't* like the features of iPhone 4, but don't feel I need them. I don't video chat. I can't see (or don't notice) the pixels on the 3GS. I basically want an iPod+phone combo, and maybe a few games. It seems like if I wait until June 24, then I have to pay $100 more than now to get essentially (for my needs) the same phone.

So, I'll get the 3GS for $199 now, but if the price will drop (and I won't miss my chance) then I'm fine waiting a few weeks... Hmmm...

I thought the 3Gs is going to $99 on June 24th. Then you can buy it from Wal-Mart. They always have plenty of out of date products for long periods of time.

The 3GS 8GB will be sold for $99 starting on June 25. The OP wants to get 32GB, so the OP's options are discounted 32GB 3GS or spend $100 more for iPhone 4 32GB.

This thread is ridiculous. This guy doesn't want to spend $100 for a vastly faster/better phone hay he can resell for probably $100 more when it comes time to sell.

I totally understand the lure of the latest and greatest gadgets, and usually I'm sucked in too. But this time, I'm going for the 3GS with bigger storage while I can. In a few years when this contract is done, I'll see what the iPhone 5 has to offer.

Thanks for all the help folks :) Enjoy your iPhone 4s!

But you'll be able to sell the iPhone 4 for $100 more. It's faster, has a far better screen (which you will notice and love), and a bunch of other stuff. I'm just confused. In any case, I hope you get what is best for you and enjoy it.
