Is Opera laggy on your laptop as well?

Late 2013 13" rMBP with 8GB RAM.
I mean I know Safari doesn't have this problem but I want to use Safari purely for school and I wanna use another browser for everything else.

The biggest problem is using pinch to zoom, pretty darn laggy. Maybe Opera has secret settings I could mess around with or any other third party browsers that you can recommend?(just not Firefox or Chrome)

Opera is the same as Chrome. They're both Chromium based and are resource hogs. In fact, any Chromium browser are resource hogs.

Firefox is pretty good in its current iteration.

But firefox the last time I used it, was pretty ugly. I don't mean themes either...the UI elements themselves. That said, thank you. I'll give firefox another try.
