As my Canon ZR-10 had died, I am looking for a low cost Final Cut Pro compatible camera and have heard good thing's about the Panasonic PV-GS31 (besides its low price) and the Sony DCR-21 (which does list as FCP compatible). Unfortunately Apple's FCP site is not very helpful in regard of Consumer Panasonic camcorder compatibility.
Does anybody have experience with the PV-GS31 and FCP 4.5 or 5?
Thanks for taking time to respond.

Im almost positive it is. My pv gs120 works great and my friend bought a pv gs65 last week which I believes works as well. Although come to think of it i think it is only usb2.0 no firewire.

Any FireWire-based DV or - if you're living in 1998 - Digital 8 cameras will work with Final Cut Pro. It's not a matter of which brands decide what editing app they will run on...

And yes, I've used Panasonics in FCP - they work. Get one.
