Is Photos export any faster in Mojave?

It takes just about forever to export the entire database from Photos. 30000 files, using the original unmodified file.

It seems like it's not actually doing anything. Activity Monitor says there isn't much CPU usage. Why?

Does it actually work in Mojave? Or will I be needing to switch to Lightroom or something?

I've taken to just copying the entire database to back up the photos, but in order to access the photos it's a bit annoying, since you have to search through the database tree instead of going by moments or whatever.
