Hello

Is Pro Motion useful for non-pros? I know 120hz would be useful for gamers but gaming on the mac is not the best experience.

What are your thoughts?

It's ideal for those who live on battery power as it should in theory ramp down to as low as 10hz, depending on what you are doing.

Essentially there's no negative about a 120hz display. I'm sure the 'blooming' outrage that plagued the iPad Pro launch will resurface but I personally don't think it's a big deal.

Yes - battery life improves because of lower refresh rates; scrolling etc improves (smoother, less text blur) because of higher rates.

I have it on my iPad Pro; I’m excited for it on my impending MacBook Pro, especially with the mini LED, which is also a pretty big deal.

120hz isn't just great for games, it is great for everything even scrolling on webpages. Once you go 120 (or higher), you can't go back to 60.

pro motion is great, mainly for the battery savings. Ive honestly never felt a difference between my 120hz iPad pro, 60hz work computer, 120hz home pc, and 60hz iPhone. Some notice, some don't, some have placebo joy.
