I'm working on a project that may need to involve a connection to some external gadgetry to function. As far as I know, there are such apps that use external devices such as the Nike+iPod.

Will I be able to program for external i/o through the dock serial port or is this some exclusive ability?

Thanks guys!

Thanks, I really appreciate the straight-to-the-point response.

The project's just a proof-of-concept with possible retail applications, but I'm just a one-developer team, and probably don't meet the qualifications for the MFI program...

I have some FPGA boards that have serial i/o which would be a lot simpler if I could just directly connect to the iPhone, but I figure it's possible to jury-rig a setup using wifi and a connection between FPGA and a computer.

Thanks again!!
