iPod touch Is Screen on New Ipod Touch Just As Good As Screen on Iphone?

I put the first gen. iphone touch right next to the iphone and the iphone's screen was crisper, clearer, and brighter. I was wondering if they improved the screen of the 2G touch at all? I haven't read anything about it in any new reviews yet.

I don't have one, but I'm pretty sure the 3G got a screen upgrade.
