I've seen several guides on how to bootcamp a mac os to PC, but all of them include a legit windows 7 CD.
What's the easiest way to get windows 7 on my mac? I don't have any CD

Setting up Windows via Boot Camp Assistant is easy, as BCA only makes a partition for Windows and downloads/burns the Windows drivers for your hardware.
The actual Windows install is the same as with every other computer, if you have a valid and functioning Windows install medium.

Recently I could install Windows 7 on a friends computer via an external USB HDD, as the ODD was broken.

well, what about the part with the CD and everything?

Yeah, you need a DVD or USB flash memory thumb drive with Windows on it. Microsoft even offers a tool for that, the "Windows USB/DVD Download Tool", which allows you to burn (copy) your legally downloaded Windows version onto a DVD (USB flash memory thumb drive) and use that as install medium.
And YouTube also has lots of guides about this issue.

Yeah.. I don't have that :[ - I do have a USB. Can I simply download the windows version via their website? Most youtube guides start with assuming you already have windows...
