iPod Is something wrong with my 30GB white iPod video.

Today some strange thing happened to my iPod. It wouldn't shut off so I Reset it. When it started working again it said in an old-fashioned iPod text 'Please connect to computer for iTunes to update your iPod'. SO I connect it to my PC at home and it says to restore my iPod because it is in recovery mode. I waited for it to fully charge and it still wouldn't work. So I disconnect it and plug it in again. It opens up Autoplay and the Restore/Recovery mode message comes up again on iTunes. The Summary is unknown and it shows an old fashioned iPod design. The 'Do Not Disconnect' thing on my iPod looks like the old one as well.

OK guys so.. What do I do? I'm not gonna call Apple so no one suggest that.

Because:
a) It's too late now. It's like 10 pm here.
b) I have no time for a long chat with about 20 minutes on hold.
c) No point and besides they would tell me to go out and buy myself a new iPod.
d) I'm shy on phones.

a) unless someone can help you here this evening, call tomorrow
b) if you call in the morning wait times aren't bad
c) how do you know?
d) do you want a working iPod?

hopefully someone can help you here but if they don't you really should call them.

Hopefully someone can give you advice, but if they can't I guess you're screwed since you won't call Apple.

No a different problem. I think his hard drive burnt off or something..
