I bought the latest macbook model in April. I saw that spore is supposed to have specs that will run on the latest version but do you think it will actually be playable or a buggy stuttering mess?

It should play ok. They wouldnt list it if it was unplayable. It may be choppy on high graphics settings.
Spare a thought for me who was kind of looking forward spore only for it not to work on my RevA MacBook.
the creature creator works very, very smoothly on my 2.2 Ghz macbook (with x3100 graphics). But of course, there's not much action going on. Still, I imagine the full game will play at least decently, if not better, with settings not too high.
