Is Spring Cleaning really worth it?

I've had the email from Smith Micro advertising Spring Cleaning 10 for $29.99. My MBP 2.16 definitely seems to have slowed down a bit over the last 6 months or so - I'm getting slower responses and occasional beachballing - so do you reckon I'd actually notice any improvement from using something like SC10?

Probably not ...

There are several free apps listed on MacUpdate that will clean out caches, so you might as well save your money. OnyX does a good job, along with several other duties.

Smith Micro's own Web site says:

Spring Cleaning 10 now offers full support of Mac OS 10.5 "Leopard".

Not a good sign. My guess is Smith Micro's "deal" is to unload inventory.
