Anyone over 50 have the 11pro? Do you find the screen size good for typical ageing eyes?

51 here but I got the Pro Max. I’ve also worn glasses since the 6th grade. Looked at the Pro but yes, a tiny bit hard on the eyes.

I also had the 6S Plus and 7 Plus.

You can always increase text size etc.

If you buy it from Apple, you can exchange within 14 days for the larger model if you find it is too hard to read.

I’m not over 50 yet, though I’m rapidly closing in on it, my eyesight though is probably a good 20 years older than me, terrible eyesight.
I’ve also let my dad, who’s in his 60’s have a play around with my old iPhone X and my Pro Max because despite him barely using the features of an iPhone, he likes to have the latest one, fair ‘nuff.

I don’t have a problem with either, but more importantly to you I suppose, my dad has no issues with them. In fact he says they’re the best screens he’s ever seen and can more clearly see what’s on them than he can with his iPhone 7.

I bought the 11 Pro Max specifically for my 49 year old eyes. I have to wear bifocals and the larger screen is definitely an improvement for me over my iPhone X.

I’ve worn glasses since I was 8 years old for nearsightedness and astigmatism. I had the iPhone X when I was 56, and I was wearing progressive lenses, and I could easily read text and otherwise use the phone. I did not increase text size. I do prefer the larger phones, but not because it’s easier on the eyes: I just like bigger screens.

As mentioned, you do have 14 days to return/exchange if you find the smaller screen is unsatisfactory.

You can increase the size of the text until it’s easier on your eyes but it lessens how much content you can see on the display.

Settings / Display and Brightness / Text Size - will do this for you.

I’m “only” 39 but I hope you don’t mind me chiming in with my experience. I’m short-sighted with astigmatism on one side and have been since childhood. I find I can use my phone or read a book with glasses on or off, but have been having trouble focusing on close objects over the last year or so.

I had an iPhone X for the last 2 years and have now upgraded to the 11 Pro Max. I generally wanted a larger screen as I spend a lot of time looking at my phone, but I must say the extra room has really reduced the focussing issues for me. I have “display zoom” enabled which enlarges everything slightly and this is absolutely perfect.

Although I miss the small form factor of the X, I am definitely glad I chose the Max and won’t be going back in future.

Bad eyesight is not necessarily age related. Perhaps you should direct your question for glasses wearers or people who are farsighted. I've been wearing glasses off and on since I was in preschool.

The pro max is the only phone that I can see ALL fonts (at largest reg text size) clearly without reading glasses, or using"accessibility" sizes which throw everything off. The "Zoomed view" is a necessity for me cause I hate having to reach for reading glasses. I tried the reg 11 & zoomed view was fine, but the "bass" in speakers on the reg 11 are inferior, the tele photo lens missing, and that large OLED Max screen is SO good!.
