TheSSD is rather pricey. Some might appreciate more performance for the price.

Disappointing in the fact thatreleases a firmware to update Sata III while at the same time ships a sata II drive as their SSD option.
Seeing that they DO NOT want you in the iMac "upgrading" this seems not to make any sense at all.

You are absolutely correct. Macs are not for people interested in cheap computers.
Maybe not from a consumer perspective, from Apple's it makes perfect sense. Buy cheaper SSDs in bulk from Toshiba, install them, charge lots, make more money.
