Is the 70s window GUI old-hat now?

I love the focus of iOS and wonder if desktop clutter can evolve into something better.

Expose was the first real evolution/solution.

BTW, would be nice if I could lock window position and size for apps and finder.

All civilized humans live in houses which have windows. Even open houses have windows. So what do you want to eliminate? Our symbols of civilization?

The development of window-based OSs was a necessary step in our evolution, just like houses, which allow us so many things. We should not think that we are separated from the things which surround us, like houses and windows-based OSs. ;-)
