Is the Airport Express OK as a standalone router?

Would the express do fine as a main router for my house? I have a latop (Vista) and will soon have an iMac (should arrive this week). Does it have a modem built in?

There's no modem in the Airport Express. It's a goodish router though, and the airtunes feature is brilliant.

It have worked fine for me in a long time now... but as said - no modem.

I believe it's a better extension of an already existing wireless network. The range is less than that of an AEBS, and also you don't have the ability to add wired computers down the line.
