Hey guys I currently use a polar chest strap to monitor my heart rate when I use the cardio equipment at my gym. The strap communicates with the gym equipment and automatically slows down or speeds up the treadmill to make sure I'm maintaining a certain heart rate when I train. Im not a big fan of the chest strap because they are uncomfortable. Do you guys know if the apple watch will work with the cardio equipment like my current polar setup? Thanks

No, the HR sensor is internal and not even accessible by 3ed party apps.

Chest straps send out a BT or ANT+ radio frequency meant for the watch that the equipment locks onto. The :apple:Watch sensor is hard wired to the S1 chip so there is no radio communication to lock onto.
