I noticed that in pics folder the background is dark grey, but my question is in allll other folder whether containing videos, documents or files is the background white, or can it be changed to a white background? Any mac user should know this, 2cd question also~is the background seriously dark grey in the pictures folder? can it be changed? and question 3-(only if you can't change the pic folder backing in question 2), can you just lol save your images in another folder with da white background??

Sounds like your confusing the different views.

i.e. Pictures as cover flow, others as lists or details or thumbnails.

Other folder that you want can be view as cover flow (with a dark background)

Either that or you need to be clearer with your query.

It's default white, you can change this in Menu Bar-View-View Options and set the colour to white.
All questions answered.

When/if you set the color or place an image as the BG, if you or someone then checks the /use as default/ box it'll set that color/image system-wide too. So maybe that's what you're experiencing?
