The Dell SP2309W 23" Flat Panel Widescreen Monitor with WebCam is only $300, seems to good to be true. Is it a good monitor, in the same league as the HP LP2475w or the Apple 24" LED display?

I can definitely live with the 23" and can't believe it's only $300.

i believe it id in the same league if not better than the hp

If the Dell SP2309W is TN as I believe it is so, it is no where near as good as that HP.

Never figured monitors could be so complicated. :) H-IPS versus S-IPS, and now there's e-IPS. TN is good for quick response, but the IPSs are better at colors and viewing angles.

But, what's the difference between all the different versions of IPSs?

And I believe all these different versions are underneath TFT (Thin film transistors).

Looking to buy a new monitor

Discussion here for the SP2309W,

Sorry for bumping an old post. But I am greatly considering buying this monitor. And I find the URL (to an even older thread) that you linked very very helpful. Especially the calibration info, which, if I do end up buying the monitor, I will try it and hopefully it will work.

I'm replying only so I don't have to dig my way to this thread again. :)
